Absolute Films announces commencement of principal photography on this Latin romantic docudrama, Filmed primarily in Mexico and Los Angeles it is written by first time writer Robert Villalobos, based on the actual diaries of Reyna Villalobos Quintana Uribe.

The film is a Latin love story about "Johnny," Juan Uribe (Jeff Cahill, DANGEROUS MINDS, N.Y.P.D. BLUE) born of Mexican decent Johnny is adopted and raised by a middle-class American couple in Los Angeles. At 15 Johnny's parents are murdered and Johnny is orphaned again. He's quickly adopted by a Latin family from the other side of the tracks. Johnny is a fish-out-of-water until he meets his soul mate, Maria Cruz (Carolina Tallar, Soap Opera star from Santiago, Chile). Without warning, Maria's overprotective father relocates his family to Mexico and Johnny's three-year quest to find his love begins. The film takes you deep into LA's gang world mixing Hollywood film stars and LAPD cops with notorious Latin gangbangers, some of which have returned to prison unable to participate further in filming. In this mixing of worlds life and death moments are captured on film. Producer/Director Romeo Carey makes his feature film debut helming the offbeat with his cast of 500 Latinos; gangsters; LAPD cops and noted Hollywood stars Danny Trejo (REINDEER GAMES, CONAIR, DESPERADO, HEAT), Lawrence Tierney (RESERVOIR DOGS, DILLINGER), and Cristos (DEEP BLUE SEA, DESPERADO).
